Clinical Psychology

"I love helping clients break free from the unconscious habits of the mind to find peace, happiness & freedom from their struggle."

Naomi is a registered and endorsed Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and a Registered Medicare Provider for Clinical Psychology items. She is also registered to provide rebates with all private health insurance companies.

With almost 30 years experience in the field, initially in public and private psychiatric hospitals in Perth and Melbourne, Naomi established her own business in clinical and coaching psychology in Perth in 1999.

Having trained in a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Naomi brings a unique combination of techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema-Focussed Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness to her work. Each of these approaches are known to be helpful in the treatment of different psychological and emotional problems. The combination of these two therapies can help a person to move beyond coping and managing, to learning to overcome their emotional pain and distress.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT provides an excellent starting point for a person to understand their pain and how to manage some of their symptoms.

Schema-Focused Therapy

Schema-Focussed Therapy is particularly useful when a person doesn’t feel like they are getting any better: often the schema – or unconscious beliefs or habits of mind that underpin the way we approach life - may be contributing.

Mindfulness, Meditation, Positive Psychology and Neurobiology

Naomi also incorporates the latest developments in the fields of Mindfulness, Meditation, Positive Psychology and Neurobiology of Change into her practice with great success. Since 1997 she has integrated her own meditation practice into her work. In collaboration with her Meditation Teacher (Roger Ballard) Naomi established an ongoing Mindfulness Workshop series in 2006. Because these workshops do not focus on problems but rather on how to recognise and break free of the unconscious habits of mind, to find a way to access peace and happiness, they are attended by both her Clinical and Coaching clients, with great success. The workshops are in great demand from her clients who seek to not only overcome their emotional problems but to grow beyond this. Participants learn how to build resilience and to let go of being excessively driven to the detriment of their health, happiness, relationships and even their success.

Naomi co-facilitates the Mindfulness Workshops, and they are held once per week for her clinical or coaching clients. For more information, follow this link:
